Job Description: POSITION TITLE: AVP & Actuary, Market Risk LOCATION Richmond, VA or Remote At Genworth, we are committed to caring for our customers and for the safety of our colleagues. In the event the office is inaccessible (i.e. Inclement Weather), this role may be required to work remotely YOUR ROLE Genworth is seeking a senior actuary for the Risk Department, with responsibility for Life, Long Term Care, Annuity and Other Runoff businesses. The role will provide market risk expertise and advice to the senior management team to ensure the strategic vision of the organization is executed with consideration for the risks involved, and proactively manage market risk for the organization. This role will be responsible for: * The overall administration and implementation of market risk policies and goals for all major decisions affecting the USLI businesses. * Managing the Market Risk team which performs sensitivity analyses to quantify exposures to risks The role will ensure that company policies, risk tolerances and regulatory requirements of various legal entities, contracts and agencies are met; develop and manage processes, standards and procedures to ensure business operations are conducted in compliance with delegated authorities and are managed through proper risk governance; implement all necessary actions to endure achievement of the objectives of an effect risk management program for USLI. RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage Market Risk Team * Lead efforts with the USLI business and Investments to develop strategies to improve investment strategies and mitigate Capital Market risks * Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that risk management issues/concerns are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved * Monitor and modify liquidity analyses as company and markets evolve * Support USLI Asset Liability Management Committee * Define economic scenarios (Base and Alternatives) for Multi Year Plan (MYP) in coordination with Investments, MI, and others * Lead Market Risk team in performing sensitivities, for LTC, Life, Trad, and other blocks * Prepare Market Risk Dashboards for Genworth and Legal Entity Board meetings YOUR QUALIFICATIONS * 10+ years business, risk or actuarial experience in progressively larger roles * FSA designation * In depth understanding and working knowledge of overall market trends and industry practices related to Life, Long Term Care, and Annuity businesses * Demonstrated leadership capabilities with ability to effectively work across multiple business lines * Strong Communication skills, with the technical ability to challenge investment and actuarial professionals as well as the ability to convey risk exposure and requirements to business leadership ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS * In-depth knowledge of Asset/Liability Management * In-depth knowledge of Capital Requirements, including Economic Capital, for life insurance companies * Broad knowledge of pricing and valuation * CFA designation * AXIS modeling experience WHY GENWORTH? * We have a real impact on the lives of the people we serve * We work on challenging and rewarding projects * We give back to the communities where we live * We offer competitive benefits including: * Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Account options beginning your first day * 20 days of Choice Time Off your first full year * 12 Paid Holidays * 40 hours of volunteer time off * 401K Account with matching contributions * Tuition Reimbursement and Student Loan Repayment * Paid Family Leave * Child Care Subsidy Program COMPANY Genworth Financial, Inc. is a leading insurance holding company committed to helping families achieve the dream of home ownership and address the financial challenges of aging through its leadership positions in mortgage insurance and long term care insurance.
