Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, performs duties of a professional accountant that require the understanding and application of accounting theory and practice. Will collaborate with the others to perform the reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card accounts and notes payable accounts. This position will need to be proficient in multiple systems in order to access data and ensure the proper journal entries are recorded. Position will look to streamline and automate the cash reconciliation processes and assist with testing the upgrade of the underlying systems. Position will assist in the preparation of schedules for treasury support, the external audit and the Corporate tax return, as well as ad hoc projects in order to advance the goals of the accounting department.Essential Functions:Perform bank account reconciliations which include reconciling credit card transactions, ZBA transactions, high volume cash disbursements and deposits in transit. Collaborates with others in department and field to resolve discrepancies in a timing manner.Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls. Work towards creative and technological solutions to better manage workflows.Reconcile notes payable ensuring payments are initiated and recorded according to amortization schedules. Responsible for calculating accrued interest.Prepare monthly journal entries for all cash and credit card accounts, notes payable, accrued interest with supporting documentation.Prepares lead schedules, gathers supporting documentation for external audit, treasury support and Corporate tax return. Communicates effectively with external auditors and tax manager.
