Job Description:
The Position The National Women's Law Center (NWLC) seeks a
receptionist and office clerk with strong interpersonal and
customer service skills. This role will act as the face and voice
of NWLC to the general public by answering phone calls to our main
number and greeting guests when they arrive at NWLC's office. This
role will also support the Office and Operations Manager in their
day to day functions, including mail and package management,
conference room assistance, and inventory/supplies management. This
is a full-time non-exempt position of 40 hours per week. The

Responsibilities * Open and close NWLC's office each day; * Operate
telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, provide
information, take messages, and schedule appointments; * Provide a
warm, friendly, and personable greeting to persons entering NWLC,
determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to
specific destinations; * Use computer, mail, or facsimile machine
to transmit information or documents to staff and customers; *
Perform administrative support tasks, such as preparing memos,
correspondence; excel spreadsheets, or other documents. File and
maintain records; * Provide information about NWLC, such as
location of departments or offices, and employees within the
organization; * Maintain kitchen supplies and ensure their
orderliness, and occasionally troubleshoot kitchen equipment
(coffee makers, taps, microwaves); * Coordinate with cleaning
vendors to ensure major kitchen and conference room cleaning
functions are performed satisfactorily; * On occasion, actively
clean countertops and appliances to account for spills; * Provide
support to the Office and Operations manager as needed; * Assist
with events hosted at NWLC as needed; * Help with conference room
set up when needed; * Collect, sort, distribute, and prepare mail,
messages, and courier deliveries; * Order, stock, and organize
office supplies and storage rooms; * Clean offices and workstations
in anticipation of new employees; * Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications The candidate must possess: * Excellent
interpersonal and telephone etiquette; * Proficiency with Microsoft
Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; *
Attention to detail; * Organizational skills; * The ability to work
independently once given a task. Additional preferred skills and
knowledge: * At least one year of relevant experience in a busy
office environment; * Ability to work additional hours as needed.
Key Relations The Receptionist/Office Clerk reports to the Director
of IT and Operations. Additionally, the Receptionist/Office Clerk
will collaborate closely with the Office and Operations Manager and
all staff across the organization. Compensation & Benefits A salary
within the range of $60,307-72,615 will be provided to the
successful candidate with 0 to 10+ years of experience, consistent
with the National Women's Law Center's compensation framework. The
successful candidate's salary within this range will be determined
by the number years of relevant experience they bring to the role.
The Center offers a comprehensive benefits package, and four weeks
of annual vacation. NWLC is a non-profit organization whose
headquarters and staff are based in Washington, D.C. at our new
office at 1350 Eye Street N.W. This role is designated as essential
and will be required to work in the office four days per week, and
will be eligible for one remote day per week. The successful
candidate will need to live in or relocate to the DMV (broadly
defined as DC, Maryland, or Virginia). The first 90 days of
employment will be considered a probationary period. Classification
NWLC recognizes a staff bargaining unit, NWLC United, affiliated
with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union/IFPTE Local 70, a
union for non-profit workers. This position is included in NWLC's
bargaining unit. Specific employment terms are subject to
