Our celebrated products consist of Duke's Mayonnaise, Spice Hunter and Sauer Brands.Position Summary:Sauer Brands is seeking to attract a creatively charged brand marketer to help lead the Duke's brand forward in amazing fashion.--The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of classic consumer brand experience from either the manufacturer or agency side and will have worked on challenger brands or brands that have upset the categories in which they have competed. This is a creative individual steeped in brand but with a curious outlook.--A passionate team player and someone with a clear point of view on "relevance" for where brands need to be today.--We're not hiring a "suit", we are hiring someone who wants to get their hands dirty, is smart and will make us squirm with their ideas.The Duke's Brand Marketing Manager (aka "Brand Passionista" ) primary responsibility is identifying and accelerating all appropriate consumer touch-points of the Duke's brand marketing mix. Measured metrics include Brand share, Brand "Love" (aka Affinity), and relevance scores against a younger (millennial) target audience. Position works collaboratively within the marketing team and division teams as well as R&D and agency/media partners to advance seamless planning and execution. The position reports to the Director of Marketing.What You Will Do: Monitor and Analyze (Provide well informed solutions)Be all over food/flavor trends and emerging consumer "foodie" actions, competitive activity in and outside the category to anticipate changes and recommend opportunities for the Brand.Demographic changes in media consumption trends, new platforms to engage the target, and trends in order to anticipate consumers' desires for new products.Guerilla marketing ideas/tactics to drive "episodic" advancement of the Duke's brand.Align and track with annual KPIsDevelop and Implement ("Break some china")--Challenge the status quo and reshape the paradigmHelps lead the execution of the Duke's brand positioning, including all elements of the marketing mix, including but not limited to Brand "voice", Product Portfolio, Consumer Messaging, Packaging, Pricing Strategies, Distribution Strategies, etc.In concert with CMO and Director of Marketing serves as a strong interface with agency partners working closely on communication strategy and creative output and means to execute.Business insights and analogs of "challenger brands" that will allow the company to understand consumer, competitive, and the evolving marketplace landscape, ad/media strategies that will allow us to capitalize on trends more effectively than larger competitors with more resourcesMarketing communication to include traditional as well as non-traditional awareness building/ advertising, PR, social/digital media, sampling and event activities, and other consumer activation tactics.B2B engagement and communication plans, include PR campaigns, email list management, digital.Communicate, Coordinate, Collaborate (Push and Prod)Works in collaboration with Division Marketing Managers across channels to insure consistency of tactical activities with overall brand direction, and to support development--of appropriate selling, POS and collateral materialsCommitted to communicate, promote and support the company vision and values, and model the expected behaviors--The Ideal Candidate Will Have: --BS/BA degree.--MBA welcomed but so is a stint in the circus!Minimum 3-5 years CPG Brand Management or Agency side experienceExperience with "challenger" brands a big plusFood industry experience desired, but not requiredIdeal candidate has big company and nimble "little guy" experienceAbility to travel as required (10% - 20%)--Successful Attributes: Personal CharacteristicsEntrepreneurial drive and the desire to "build a business".Fun, outgoing, energetic, and results oriented personalityOverall confidence in one abilities and comfortable communicating the factsSmart, creative and inquisitiveOrganized and strong willed in the face of inertiaNo excuses mindset (works hard/plays hard)Dependable team player with positive attitudePersonal values that mesh with SBI valuesPassion for marketing brandsPerformance HistoryDocumented history of making improvements in assigned work area/responsibilitiesStellar references based on contributions and performanceDemonstrated proficiency in the following SkillsBrand BuildingGuerrilla Marketing/tactical expertiseCreative in context of strategyCommunicationOrganization and time managementAbility to work and thrive under time constraints and prioritize responsibilities.Working collaboratively with other functional disciplines to drive company goals--What Is In It For You?Our company acknowledges talented people are attracted to companies that provide competitive pay, comprehensive benefits packages and outstanding advancement opportunities.
