Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1 years
Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required.

considered. An opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of
the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support young learners in an
elementary school setting within the Virginia Beach area. This
full-time, contract position offers the chance to work closely with
a small caseload of children, providing specialized instruction and
support tailored to their unique communication and educational
needs. Location: Norfolk, VA (Virginia Beach Area) Position Type:
Contract (School Year) Work Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 5th grade Caseload: 8 students,
all located at the district center Key Responsibilities: - Deliver
specialized instructional services to students who are Deaf or Hard
of Hearing, enhancing their academic and communication skills. -
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
aligned with state standards and each students needs. - Collaborate
with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure
consistent, supportive learning environments. - Monitor student
progress and adjust strategies to meet evolving goals and
challenges. Qualifications and Experience: - Active Virginia
Department of Education Certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing
education is required. - Experience working with elementary-aged
students (K-5) who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. - Strong
communication skills and the ability to adapt instructional methods
to diverse learning styles. - Commitment to providing a supportive
and inclusive educational atmosphere. Additional Information: -
Contract runs ASAP through June 16, 2026. - All students served are
housed in one district center, allowing focused and efficient case
management. - Time-sensitive credentialing follows standard
Virginia requirements. - Pre-screening interviews are required and
can be scheduled with flexibility between 9-11 am or 2-3 pm EST.
