Job DescriptionPosition Title: Unified Communications Engineer
(VOIP Engineer)Location: Petersburg, VA -- OnsiteDuration: 6 months

Responsibilities: Minimum 8 years technical experience in:
- VOIP certification
- Develop and update technical documentation related to all
Unified Communications systems
- Experience with voice communications technologies
- Network experience including routing, switching, and
wireless
- Ability to update certificates
- Experience with managing the contact center
- CCNP is preferred
- Inventory tracking, reporting, and quality assurance of
Telecommunication Service Request (TSR), performance statistics,
and billing supportSecurity Requirements:Background checks may
include a State Criminal History Record check, a search of the
National Sex Offender website, fingerprinting, Child Protective
Services (depending on position), a local criminal history record
check, a Division of Motor Vehicle transcript, a copy of your
diploma or transcript (if required), and two employment
references.Summary of the Role:Unified Communications Engineer to
provide administration services for CISCO VoIP system.40% - Provide
technical leadership for the voice communications technologies
including VOIP, Voice Mail, CTI (computer telephony integration),
IVR and ICD (intelligent call distribution) connections with user
environments, daily VOIP and Voice Mail operations, carrier
data/voice circuits, ICD, network capacity and performance while
also handling all change requests and problem resolution. Develop
and update technical documentation related to all Unified
Communications systems.25% - Work with departments to design,
develop, test, and deploy custom solutions while providing project
management responsibility for any new VOIP implementations,
including creating schedules, assigning tasks, managing outside
vendors, and ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget
with no negative impact on business operations. Keep management
apprised of status with accurate and timely information. Work on
multiple technical projects in a multi-platform environment.25% -
Serve as secondary support for data network including routing,
switching, and wireless. Install, configure, and maintain data
network hardware, operating systems, and applications that reside
on multi-platform systems. Perform all other duties associated with
the administration of the data network as required to ensure
service delivery.5% - Maintain inventory tracking, reporting, and
quality assurance of Telecommunication Service Request (TSR),
performance statistics, and billing support.5% - Participate as a
team lead on disaster recovery tasks as it relates to the Unified
Communications IT Disaster Recovery Plan and Continuity of
Operations Plan (COOP). Perform tests of failover systems to ensure
successful recovery of hardware and software. Monitor availability
of all failover systems and components. Ensure data backups are
operational and perform test restores of data on a scheduled basis.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Deputy Chief
Information Officer, Deputy CIO of IT Operations, and/or Lead
Network Services Engineering in order to fulfill the organization's
