Job DescriptionThe Solar Project Engineer works
cross-functionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, supporting
engineering decisions and processes for new large commercial
utility scale solar projects. The ideal candidate will be
entrepreneurial, comfortable wearing many hats, manage multiple
projects concurrently and work effectively in a highly
collaborative environment. Looking for individuals who are talented
and highly regarded within the industry, detail-oriented and have
demonstrated the ability to work back from core customer needs.
Consistently manages stakeholder expectations and multiple work
scopes efficiently with high level of organization and attention to
detail. The Solar Project Engineer is comfortable working with
developers, engineers, local officials, real estate professionals,
contractors and other external team members.Good to Know Details: 2
weeks onsite and then 2 weeks remote repeating is the work schedule
Work Address: 600 Canal, Richmond, VA When onsite eligible for
daily per diem at 209/day Local candidates strongly preferred 40
hours per week with occasional overtime Parking when onsite is not
eligible for expenses (contractor will pay their own parking

independently and collaboratively within a team Ability to work
with technical and non-technical business owners to overcome
obstacles and deliver resultsResponsibilities Work with technical
and non-technical business owners/partners to overcome obstacles
and deliver results Lead a collaborative
development/pre-construction process for multiple new large
commercial utility scale solar projects Manage resources to ensure
prompt information transfer and contract adherence Provide detailed
oversight and support of contractors and coordinate technical
review of contractor-supplied deliverables through Request For
Information (RFI) review and Owners Engineer (OE) support Support
coordination between project teams, including construction,
engineering, real estate, environmental, and project management,
etc. Contributes to project completion related research, including
state and local permitting and regulatory processes Establishes,
maintains, and updates project specific files, databases, records,
and other documents Provide engineering support for designated
solar projects. This position serves as the primary interface
between EPC contractor's Engineer-of-Record, Dominion (internal)
Engineering staff and the Owner's Engineer, tracking the
comment/review cycle for all RFI's, Transmittals, Submittals, etc.
throughout the course of the Project. Candidate will be required to
review all EPC project correspondence, including
daily/weekly/monthly report content and structure, to ensure
compliance with contractual requirements. Perform other duties as
requested or assignedBasic Qualifications 5-7 years related
experience in land use, real estate and/or environmental (erosion
and sediment control, stormwater management, wetlands protection)
for large capital construction projects Have strong multi-tasking
skills Experienced with Adobe Professional, Word, PowerPoint and
Excel Full knowledge of local, state, and federal laws concerning
permitting transmission and substation facilities Strong
organizational skills are a must, with the ability to prioritize a
large task load in a fast-paced environment Must demonstrate strong
attention to detail and the ability to solve complex problems with
full transparency and adequate documentation Must be able to
demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills BS
engineering degree from accredited universityPreferred
Qualifications Electrical or Civil Engineering Degree Direct
Utility Scale Solar construction or permitting experience
Self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively
within a team Ability to work with technical and non-technical
business owners to overcome obstacles and deliver results
