Job Title: Lead, Quality Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a Lead, Quality Engineer who will coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain to resolve production and customer quality issues through systematic problem-solving methodologies that ensure sustainable quality improvement. In addition, this lead will provide guidance to the Quality Inspectors and Technicians. This lead will help build & foster an environment that embraces quality assurance (QA) and continuous improvement as a key to the company's ongoing growth and success.

What you'll be responsible for in the role:

  • Manage, lead, and train quality inspectors and/or technicians
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction
  • Use formal, data-driven problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, 8Ds, etc.) to drive the organization efforts forward and deliver sustainable results
  • Understand and define production capabilities
  • Apply capability data to engineering & production quality standards and specifications
  • Design and coordinate testing as required to ensure that product performance and durability expectations are met
  • Facilitating compliance with NSF, UL, and other relevant industry standards
  • Develop measurements and communicate data to internal stakeholders
  • Participate in lean initiatives and improvement projects as required
  • Partner with manufacturing, continuous improvement, and other teams
  • Collaborate with other functional areas to determine the financial impact of QA activities and reduce COQ
  • Develop training material, operating procedures, work instructions and training individuals/teams as needed in updated processes and procedures
  • 20% travel between local sites with occasional travel to other US based facilities within Dover Food Retail
  • Other duties as assigned What are the basic qualifications?
    • Bachelor's degree in applicable Engineering field
    • 2 years of experience in the quality industry
    • 2 years of demonstrated leadership or managing projects To be a great fit for the role:

      • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint)
      • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
