Electrical and Instrumentation Reliability Engineer reports
directly to the Engineering and Technology Manager and is a key
member of the Colonial Heights Maintenance Excellence Leadership
Team. This position is responsible for improving all aspects of
electrical and instrument machine health for the site. The site is
located approximately 15 miles south of Richmond, VA and is the
primary manufacturing facility for Spectra Fiber that supports the
Honeywell's Performance Product business. MAJOR AREAS OF
RESPONSIBILITY--include the following (Other duties may be
assigned): -- Solves Electrical and Instrumentation problems
through design, redesign, application, and reliability centered
maintenance techniques. -- Familiar with all instrumentation
devices such as transmitters, controllers, transducers, signal
conditioners, valves, limit and proximity switches -- Knowledgeable
in E/I loop checks, calibrations and interlock testing -- Serve as
the primary point of contact for all E&I related issues during
normal working hours and during off hours -- Develop Electrical &
Instrumentation (E&I) guidelines, inspection/test/work
procedures, standards, documentation methods, and polices to
achieve world-class level -- Provide troubleshooting flow charts
and standard works to improve troubleshooting technique and
troubleshooting time. -- Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving
activities on E&I related issues -- Support, plan and
coordinate E&I work during outages -- Interact well with
Planners, Operators, Shift Leaders and Production Engineers to
solve day-to-day E&I maintenance and minor mechanical issues.
-- Assist in the implementation of capital projects, as well as
maintenance process improvements to maximize manufacturing rates,
yields, and efficiencies -- Provide short-term and long-term
improvements in process control using Programmable Logic Control
(PLC), HMI Programming, AC/DC Inverter Drives, Motor Controls,
Experion DCS and electrical power distribution to increase
operating efficiencies/I software needs to Experience in the use of
SAP, MS Project, other MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) --
Uses various test and inspection instruments to assess condition
and repair requirements of equipment including NDT and PdM
technologies. -- Uses statistical tools to track and analyze trend
data, performs calculations, communicate performance, predict
remaining life and failure expectancy and to improve MTBF of
equipment.-- Works in team environment to investigate incidents
relative to equipment failure, root cause analysis and to develop
and follow-up on recommendations. -- Works with maintenance,
stores, suppliers and purchasing on spare parts and equipment
opportunities. -- Tracks maintenance related plant downtime and
OEE. Prepares monthly reports. -- Collects data and reports on
benefits resulting from reliability centered maintenance. --
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
Performs/coordinates inspections/tests, calculations, evaluations,
repair recommendations, contractor and repair work, etc. for
electrical integrity. -- Supports MOC program for changes required
to reliability databases. -- Support Maintenance Excellence

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: -- Associates Degree in Electrical
Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology -- 6 months of
experience in a technical or operational assignment, internship, or
co-op experience in Controls, Instrumentation, Computer
Programming, Hardware Design, Manufacturing, Project Design,
Reliability Engineering, Maintenance, or Production Engineering. --
Must have a strong proficiency in various software programs
including MS PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook, Word, Visio,
Project, Adobe Acrobat and ERP system. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:--
-- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical
Engineering Technology -- Knowledge of Maintenance module for SAP
or equivalent ERP System. -- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
and autonomously. -- Work efficiently and effectively in a
high-stress, high pressure environment. -- Willingness to take the
lead in the development and improvement of new/existing processes.
-- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all
levels of an organization. -- Demonstrated ability to work in a
team environment.-- Hands-on proactive problem solver; possess
"Can-Do" presence, maturity and judgment.-- Excellent
