Job Description:
As a Battery Algorithms and Controls Engineer, you will be
responsible for developing battery state estimation and control
algorithms for next-generation battery management systems. Your
work will be deployed on both embedded and cloud-based targets.

problems in battery and energy management.What you'll be able to
do:
- Design, develop, and validate various BMS control and state
estimation algorithms including SOC, SOH, SOT, SOE, Power
Prediction, and Fast Charge Controls.
- Develop battery models using electrical and physics-based
modeling approaches.
- Document and maintain algorithm requirements &
specifications.
- Validate algorithm function and performance through MIL/SIL/HIL
testing.
- Develop high-quality firmware for battery management systems.
Firmware will be enabled to support continuous improvements and
optimizations for high-volume applications through over-the-air
(OTA) updates.
- Collaborate with platform software, testing, and cloud
analytics teams to implement and refine algorithms, and integrate
feedback from field and lab data.
- Support battery pack and vehicle integration efforts.
- Support BMS hardware design and component selection.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts to
identify and resolve algorithm-related issues and implement
corrective actions to improve system performance and
reliability.
- Stay current with industry and research advancements in battery
science, translating cutting-edge research into BMS functionality
enhancements.The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related
field.
- A minimum of 5 years developing BMS algorithms for automotive
or mission-critical systems
- Strong knowledge of lithium-ion battery cell (LFP, NCA, and
NMC) and pack design technologies.
- Experience developing control algorithms in embedded C.
- Experience modeling lithium-ion batteries with
equivalent-circuit and physics-based methods.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and similar tools for
battery equivalent-circuit and physics-based modeling.
- Strong knowledge of battery cell testing techniques including
GITT, HPPC, and EIS.
- Theoretical expertise in probability and statistics.Preferred
Requirements :
- Solid theoretical foundation in adaptive filtering, digital
signal processing, and control theory including classical,
state-space, optimal, and digital controls.
- Hands-on experience in defining, formulating, and implementing
machine learning problems for both offline and online BMS
applications.
- Understanding of real-time systems and common microcontroller
architectures & peripherals.
- Familiarity with common electronic components and comfort
reading circuit design schematics & data sheets, contributing to
BMS hardware design discussions.
- Strong knowledge of battery cell testing techniques including
GITT, HPPC, and EIS. Experience using git or similar version
control system.
- Familiarity with automotive safety standards (e.g. ISO26262)
and how they apply to hardware and software.
- Ability to work independently on technical tasks, effective
troubleshooting and problem-solving with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication, and teamwork
skills.
- A systems approach to design and development with the desire
and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and
