Job Description Job Description Boarhog is hiring an Electronic Warfare Technician with experience in performing component and system level maintenance for shipboard systems. The work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) on Wallops Island, VA, which provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors in support of combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future. Future SCSC capabilities the Electronic Warfare Technician will be exposed to include High Energy Laser with Integrated Optical-Dazzler and Surveillance Weapon System (HELIOS), next-generation radars, the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP), and a cooperative with NASA developing Unmanned Arial Vehicles and supporting Large Space Vehicle launches. Technicians with an interest in expanding their systems expertise are afforded opportunities to work on these and other capabilities thereby enhancing their resume and opportunities for increased compensation. RESPONSIBILITIES : This Electronic Warfare Technician will perform equipment and system level maintenance on AN/SLQ-32 variants and SEWIP systems at the AEGIS and SSDS facilities, and provide equipment configuration and operational support, to include scheduling planned maintenance actions using the SKED program in accordance with the Navy’s Maintenance Material Management (3M) system, and document maintenance actions including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program. REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED Three (3) years demonstrated experience performing fault isolation and casualty restoration and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. PQS 301 qualification. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within three (3) months of employment. DoD Secret level security clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are established by the U.S. government, to include being a U.S. citizen. If the selected candidate does not hold a Secret clearance, the contingent offer may delay the start date until an interim Secret clearance is granted. PREFERRED but not required: Active DoD Secret security clearance Certified ETA Fiber Optic Installer Security Certification Experience with Network devices and an understanding of Operating Systems, preferably RedHat or UNIX Preference will be given to candidates who reside in, or will move into, a Small Business Administration (SBA) designated Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) area, of which Wallops Island VA is one. WORK SCHEDULE: Successful candidate can expect schedule flexibility with a variety of 40 hour work-week configurations that might be scheduled on a rotational basis: Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 1st Shift Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 2nd Shift Variable 4 x 10 shifts that may include weekends (4 days on/3 days off) and may be 1st or 2nd shift Sliding (5 x 8) work weeks (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday) and may be 1st or 2nd shift CULTURE, COMPENSATION and BENEFITS: Boarhog has almost 14 years of Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) steady, controlled growth and profitability, offering our full-time associates extensive compensation benefits: This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA).
