Job Description:
As a Senior Commissioning Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME)
at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will be a pivotal part of our
core engineering team dedicated to ensuring the operational
efficiency and effectiveness of our expansive and intricate cloud
infrastructure. This role involves overseeing the mechanical
aspects of commissioning projects across the Americas, focusing on
the integration and functionality of AWS’s data centers. You will
apply your expertise in HVAC systems, cooling and airflow
management, as well as other mechanical systems, to optimize
performance in line with AWS’s rigorous standards and innovative
edge. Oversee and execute comprehensive commissioning projects
across multiple AWS data center sites in the Americas. Collaborate
with design and construction teams to ensure mechanical systems
meet AWS’s high-quality standards. Conduct and supervise extensive
testing and troubleshooting of HVAC, cooling, and ventilation
systems. Validate and optimize building automation and control
systems for peak operational performance. Provide detailed
documentation and reporting on all commissioning activities and
outcomes. Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical expert
within the mechanical engineering team. Strong understanding of
mechanical engineering principles, especially related to HVAC and
cooling systems. Proficiency with data center infrastructure and
environmental controls. Experience with building management and
automation systems. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance
complex systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong project management and leadership abilities. Medical
Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k PE
(Professional Engineer) license preferred. Certifications from
ASHRAE (e.g., HVAC Design) considered a plus. Project Management
Professional (PMP) certification advantageous.
