Job Description:

The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for the following areas:Accounting

  • Process and post all income & expenses relating to the property
  • Use Yardi to coordinate reports including leasing summary, advertising activity, property status and renewals
  • Make bank deposits, and ensure accuracy of posted receipts, rents, deposits, and application fees
  • Prepare accounts payable and present to Community Manager for approvalMarketing & Leasing
    • Greets prospective residents, qualifies, and determines needs and preferences
    • Answers incoming phone calls and handles accordingly
    • Records daily traffic, move-ins, move-outs, etc.
    • Maintains awareness of local market conditions and trends and assists in creative and efficient ways to market the property
    • Performs market surveys and shops the competition on a routine basis
    • Responsible for maintaining a professional and friendly atmosphere in the leasing office and other common areas of the propertyOffice Administration
      • Ensures all lease applications are completed in full and performs application verification
      • Prepares all move-in packets, coordinates new move-ins and lease renewals, maintains resident records, etc.
      • Reviews resident records, lease renewals on a regular basis
      • Assists with training of office staffManagement Accountabilities
        • Supports the goals and principles of federal and state fair housing laws
        • Conducts business in accordance with company policies and procedures and government laws pertaining to employers and apartmentsThe above is a brief outline of job duties and is not intended to be all-inclusive.
          • Bachelor's Degree in Management or related field and 1 year property management experience OR
          • 1-3 years experience in leasing and property management or combo. of education and experience
          • Prior supervisory experience as well as strong administrative and financial ability
          • Proficient in Microsoft Office
          • Superior problem solving & excellent written & oral communication skills
          • Team player
