OPERATOR/FIELD DATA COLLECTION MANAGERWDM USA is hiring Operators/Field Data Collection Managers with technical, active driving skills to collect high-quality pavement condition data for Departments of Transportation across the United States.WDM Operators report daily to WDM s home office in Richmond, Virginia, but lead a two-person field team in collecting high-quality pavement condition data. WDM Operators manage the success of day-to-day data collection operations, including setting survey routes, monitoring incoming data, and troubleshooting equipment. In addition to being experienced CDL drivers, WDM Operators are detail-oriented, solution seekers with demonstrated leadership skills. The position is ideal for experienced CDL drivers with exceptional technical skills and proven responsibility who are looking to build or utilize experience in IT/data management, electrical systems maintenance, or project management.Operators must be able to travel extensively throughout the US, working long days (12-14 hours), 6 days a week while on assignment. Home travel available for extended assignments. WDM USA is passionate about saving lives. Using specialized survey equipment to collect data on pavement surface condition, WDM USA works with Departments of Transportation across the United States to determine where, when, and how they can reduce crashes. Schedules are set at least one month in advance. Operators are paid on an hourly basis with overtime and daily per diems available. Hotels are covered while in field. (Home travel available for extended assignments.)Be detail-oriented and committed to doing a thorough job.Communicate tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing.Work well in teams and when asked to problem-solve without supervision.Be self-motivated, honest, responsible, and driven to succeed.Perform various types of field data collection, using specialized survey equipment and vehicles.Prepare data collection reports in a timely manner.Demonstrate ability to meet project goals and deadlines in both routine and non-routine testing environments.Maintain and calibrate specialized survey equipment.Perform preventative maintenance and necessary mechanical repairs on specialized survey equipment and vehicles or facilitate repairs through outside sources when necessary.Keep vehicles and office/operations areas clean and within OSHA requirements. RequirementsESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSHave a current Class A or Class B license with N-tanker endorsementPossess strong leadership skillsProvide an up-to-date driving record with NO accidents in the last 3 years and NO DUI/DWIsBe able to perform routine calibrations, pre/post-trip inspections, and basic vehicle maintenance, including some physical tasks involving exerting up to 50 pounds of forceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; training or certification as a mechanical/electrical/IT technician a plus7-10 years of related experience, training, or service DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSWorking knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office; additional IT skills highly desiredGeotechnical, pavement, or Civil Engineering field data collection experienceGood understanding of gas/diesel engine, hydraulic equipment, and/or electrical system repair Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hourJob Location: Richmond, VA, Lexington, KY, Various Project Locations
