Job Summary
Urban Grid is looking for a Project Manager to support solar
development projects in various states in the US. This person
supports all aspects of the development and implementation of
assigned projects and serves as the main point of contact for those
projects. Takes projects end to end from original concept through
late stage, pre-construction and handover to construction.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plans, manages, and monitors projects from concept through
implementation/handover of solar developments projects. Acts as
primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements
and project objectives
- Through formal project management processes and methodologies,
ensure assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget and
meet high quality standards and Leadership expectations. Be
responsible for managing projects' scope, schedules, and costs as
well as supporting internal reporting requirements using the
appropriate tools
- Meets with internal team member and where required external
customers and vendors of an assigned project to provide status
updates and reports and gather project-related feedback
- Coordinate project team calls and hold project update meetings
based on project needs
- Collaborate closely with leadership in Development,
Engineering, and Finance to ensure smooth transitions between
project phases and maintain defined lines of accountability
- Responsible for handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Prepares preliminary and end result costing analysis for
project teams, project leadership or department leadership
- Develops options and recommendations to drive critical
decisions
- Tracks costs and performance, service levels and other metrics
required to ensure project goals and objectives are met
- Serves as a resource to development managers and project
leaders to support, educate and assist them with implementing
project management processes and making improvements/ changes.
- Maintain project files in an organized fashion
- Identify and track critical project milestones from early to
late-stage development
- Prepare decision point reports prior to receiving
interconnection studies for project risk evaluation
- Support internal project reporting requirements
- Coordinate task orders with outside resources and
procurement
- Performs other duties as requested
Requirements
- BS or MS Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction
Management, or similar related field of study
- Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP), or
successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum
preferred
- Prior experience in Project Management preferred
- Minimum of 8+ years of project management experience
- Experience working within a solar development or EPC company
preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work both individually and/or in a
collaborative team environment with minimal guidance
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities while creating
and maintaining a collaborative working relationship with internal
and external team members
- Strong capacity to simultaneously manage multiple projects with
competing deadlines and be able to quickly adapt to changes and
shift priorities to meet project needs
- Experience with renewable Infrastructure projects
- Experience leading renewable and/or infrastructure project
teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Package including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and MS Project preferred
- Familiar with leading project management scheduling tools: MS
Project, Primavera, Monday.com, or related
Work Location
Remote working is acceptable for this role. Position may require
periodic trips for team meetings or site visits to support
engineering, development, and construction activities.
