Hoover & Strong, a top provider of recycled precious metals, is
seeking a Director of Finance and Accounting to join our team in
the North Chesterfield, VA area.
If you have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
and proven experience in a Managerial role in Finance or

Onsite Schedule: This is a Monday to Friday onsite role. This
position provides limited flexibility with remote working.

Primary Responsibilities:
Inventory Management & Automation/Systems Development - 40%
Develop, implement, and maintain procedures in regard to high value
inventory control and metrics for accuratereporting;
Create reports that support operations by identifying process gaps,
inventory aging, and consolidation activities;
Increase effectiveness of inventory processes to more accurately
predict availability, minimize work in process, and minimize under
delivery;
Oversee accounting for metal purchased through Refining division,
ensuring correctness and suggest improvements for efficiencies;
Monitor and improve interdivision transactions for inventory;
Manage inventory programs to include cycle counts and physical
count processes;
Manage collateral and consignment reporting to our bank and manage
hedged inventory position of precious metal.
Financial Reporting and Analysis, Budgets and Projects & Pricing -
30%
Develop and automate cost allocations for manufacturing overhead
and general and administrative costs;
Analyze company, divisional, product line, and customer financial
performance as it relates to targeted profitability and management
expectations;
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax reporting
requirements;
Disseminate financial information on a timely basis and in a clear
and concise format to key members of the organization. Must be able
to analyze and review every facet of the business and make
recommendations and appropriate course of action to enhance margins
and overall profitability.
Strategy & Growth, Banking Relationships, and Insurance & Benefits
- 30%
Closing of facility on Wednesday evening and other days as
necessary;
Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as lenders and
auditors; ensuring compliance with bank covenants and
agreements;
Take initiative with ideas and actively help lead the company
regarding strategic and tactical management issues, bringing
financial and general management expertise to the company's
leadership, partnering with the Operations team in project
management;
Act as company 401k administrator ensuring compliance with plan
documents and ERISA;
Oversee processing of weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with all
federal, state and local reporting compliance;
Assist with design and budgeting of annual benefit programs;
Manage commercial business and liability insurance renewal.
Qualification/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required,
MBA or related Master's degree preferred. CPA strongly preferred
and CMA is a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving
skills
A minimum of 10 years work experience on a progressive career
growth path, with much of that time in a senior financial
management position
Prior experience in accounting for high value inventory in a
manufacturing, medium-sized business environment, including cost
allocation design.
Strong oral and written communications skills including prior
experience with writing project plans.
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic fluid
environment.
Must be hands on, detail oriented and strategic with proven
leadership abilities.
Ability to work extended and weekend hours, if necessary, to ensure
project completion or deliverables.
