Stevenson Consulting, Inc. has an opening for a Chief Financial Officer / Controller for our corporate -office located in Midlothian, VA. We are seeking a strong leader who exhibits professionalism, integrity, accountability, and good business judgement.Position will be responsible for all phases of financial management of the company including payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Also will be responsible for providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.Responsibilities and Duties

• Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and compilation of year end accounting information for outside CPA firm statement review and preparation of state and federal tax returns.
• Oversee the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
• Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc., quarterly and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports; and check statistic management.
• Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports as required.
• Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
• Conform with and abide by all federal, state and corporate regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position is responsible for managing the accounting department consisting of Billing, Payroll and AP clerical staff, a Collections Specialist, and Billing/Collections Manager.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    • This is a full-time salaried position. In office Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required, as necessary.
    • Occasional travel may be required.Required Education and Experience
      • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
      • Proven ten years of hands-on professional services/ construction-related accounting managerial experience.
      • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
      • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
      • Mid-level ERP software user and administration skills.This is a full-time position with benefits that include paid vacation, paid holidays, 401(k), medical, dental and life insurance.
