Founded in 2011, Slaughter County Brewing Company -is an independently owned and operated craft microbrewery and brewpub located on the shoreline of Sinclair Inlet in Port Orchard, WA. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, risk-tolerant leader that's looking for an ownership stake in the beer/restaurant industry. DESCRIPTION We are currently a small, community brewpub that, for nearly a decade, has existed within, and survived a challenging business environment. We started underfunded, have operated extremely efficiently and frugally, and believe that, from our current position, the business has enormous potential. To achieve our business goals, we are seeking someone with the instincts, leadership skills, enthusiasm, and creativity to help bring Slaughter County to the next level. As an engaged Managing Director, you bring the vision, grit, and entrepreneurial instincts needed to operate independently and bring an existing, established, multifaceted brewing business to it's next level and beyond. You're comfortable with and excel at interpreting ambiguous guidelines in order to produce near term improvements and long term results. You already have the skills to take a 30K foot, systemic view, and translate that into hands-on, customer focused solutions that deliver better value, higher quality, and greater customer-focused experiences that improve margins and create competitive advantages for the Slaughter County Brand. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• ultimately responsible for business P&L
• developing, communicating, and executing biz strategies to achieve long and short term goals
• reports to and provides strategic advice to board/chair/principals
• responsible for maintaining and managing business (vendor and client) partner, stakeholder, and authority relationships
• overseeing daily operations & financials
• ensuring personnel have the facilities & resources they need for daily operations
• supervising, guiding and delegating duties to employees, management, execs, etc.
• ensuring policies and legal requirements are clearly communicated, top to bottom, and followed
• building and enhancing the company's public profile at events, meetings, presentations, etc.
• Analyze problematic situations and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSc/BA degree in business administration, marketing, management, related field, or equivalent
  • extensive experience (-10yrs) as a managing director or in a similar role
  • demonstrable experience developing and implementing business plans
  • thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
  • excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • strong, evidence driven, analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • excels in high pressure situations
  • excellent, and demonstrable, organizational and leadership skills
  • strong understanding of business/corporate finance and measures of performance
  • good understanding of corporate law, management best practices, branding, and product positioning
  • solid technical (computer) skills, using modern systems and methods PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • executive/leadership experience in the beer industry COMPENSATION This is a sweat equity position with a low starting salary. Compensation will be largely self determined with a goal to reach about $105k. With growth, this position would likely morph into a CEO'ship.
