settings.Office/Department ObjectiveThis position is for employment
at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/Regional Office of
the World Health Organization (WHO). The Health Emergencies
Department (PHE) aims to enhance health sector resilience to
emergencies and disasters by strengthening capacities in
prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. The incumbent
will support the design, development, and implementation of
information products and materials for emergencies, working with
the Emergency Operations Center team to facilitate coordination and
crisis management.Description of DutiesUnder supervision,
responsibilities include:
- Identify, collect, and maintain strategic data related to
emergencies, liaising with stakeholders and proposing systems for
information management.
- Develop situation reports and briefings for stakeholders,
supporting coordination and resource mobilization.
- Update SOPs and technical guidelines for health emergencies,
focusing on information management.
- Develop methodologies for updating guidelines and training
materials.
- Enhance collaboration among PAHO units and partners through
information sharing processes.
- Disseminate methodologies and tools for coordination and
information management.
- Review and update policies related to emergency information
management.
- Develop training materials and technical documents for
emergency response.
- Maintain databases and liaise with stakeholders for information
accuracy.
- Support meetings and response mechanisms at country and partner
levels.
- Assist in emergency operations, developing information products
and lessons learned.
- Provide technical support for activities and serve as a member
of the Regional Disaster Response Team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.Required
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in information
management, business/public administration, social sciences, or
related field from a recognized university. Higher qualifications
from accredited institutions are preferred.Experience: Five years
of experience in information management, project management, or
related fields, including work in health sector organizations.
Experience with research, analysis, and report writing.
International organization experience is a plus.SkillsStrong
ethical standards, teamwork, respect for diversity, effective
communication, self-management, result orientation, adaptability,
and technical expertise in research, report writing, and
information systems. Proficiency in English and Spanish is
required; knowledge of French or Portuguese is an asset. IT skills
should include MS Office, SharePoint, and ERP
systems.RemunerationMonthly Salary: $4,596.92 (net,
non-negotiable)Post Adjustment: $2,565.08 (variable)Additional
