TriCities, ER, a satellite emergency room of John Randolph Medical Center (JRMC), is staffed with board certified physicians and nurses who are ready to deliver quality care. As a department of JRMC, TriCities ER can easily transfer a patient if more specialized care to the hospital if needed. Our ER offers: * A separate pediatric entrance and waiting area* 11 private treatment rooms* CT, Digital Ultrasound, digital diagnostic and portable X-rays* On-site lab* Telemedicine technology with specific focus on stroke care and behavioral healthOur 11,000 square-foot Free Standing ER is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year ? offering expert, convenient care for the entire family including for the communities of Price George, Fort Lee, Colonial Heights and Petersburg. We have the capability to treat a range of emergencies from less complex cases like stitches and broken bones, to more life threatening emergencies like chest pain and potential stroke. Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs.? Prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources.? Carries out physician orders.? Assists physician during examination, treatment and procedures.? Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs.? Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well- coordinated patient care.? Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.? Instructs and educates patients and families.? Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.? Provides age and culturally appropriate care.? Orients and mentors new staff members.Qualifications Qualifications: * Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.BSN degree or currently enrolled in BSN Program preferred.* Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia or compact license required.* Current certification as an American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider upon hire. * ACLS and PALS certifications required within 6 months (180 days) of hire or start date in position.* Current certification in specialty field, TNCC certification.* Minimum of two years of experience as a RN with demonstrated competency in emergency department required.
