We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Registered Nurse (RN), on our Surgical Intensive Care Unit SICU you will support our 12-bed unit. The patient population includes wide variety of critical care-related surgical patients, trauma, neurological patients. You will also provide clinical and administrative support on the unit for patients who are often connected to a host of equipment including advanced heart and Intracranial monitors, ventilators for breathing assistance, CRRT, ECMO, vasoactive drips, Rapid Infusers, Non-invasive and Invasive monitoring who receive constant personal attention.
  • Your Primary function in this role is to instruct and educate patients and their family members.
  • As a member of SICU you will administer all prescribed medications utilizing the 5 rights to medication administration, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
  • Our nursing team monitors, records and communicates patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
  • You will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, including patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.What qualifications you will need:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
      This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
