Job Duties
Hiram W. Davis Medical Center, located in Petersburg, Virginia, is
a 94-bed medical facility providing acute medical diagnoses,
skilled care, intermediate care, and long term care to individuals
receiving services in DBHDS facilities and within the community
that have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Admissions to HWDMC are generally either permanent placement or
special hospitalization. Patients typically come to HWDMC as a
special hospitalization for step-down to stabilize, post-surgery
rehabilitation, or long-term care.
The Evening or Night Shift Certified Nurse Aide will provide basic
patient care under direction of nursing staff in an in-patient
behavioral health hospital setting. Perform duties such as feed,
bathe, dress, groom, or move patients, or change linens. May
transfer or transport patients. Will provide therapeutic options in
addition to daily care to patients with mental health
conditions.
**$3,000 Sign-On Bonus for all eligible new hires**
The schedule for this role is evening or night shift. The schedule
will be 2:00PM - 11:30 or 11:00PM 7:30AM.
Job Responsibilities:
Administer nursing care to a selected group of patients to include,
but not be limited to, personal hygiene, assisting with patient
activities, assisting patients with taking nourishment, recording
vital signs, and assisting with patient transport.
Measure and chart fluid intake and output, assists with prescribed
treatments, collection of specimens and keeps supervisor informed
of changes in patient's condition.
Shift Differentials:
Evening Shift Weekday - $2.50
Night Shift Weekday - $2.25
All Shifts on the Weekend - $3.00
Minimum Qualifications
State Board License to practice as a Nursing Aide in the State of
Virginia
Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily
living.
Ability to carry out responsibilities of the position.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with others.
Ability to turn, bend and lift non-ambulatory patients without
restrictions (with or without accommodation).
Ability to accurately maintain electronic health records.
Ability to provide direct patient care under supervision of
licensed nursing staff.
Ability to work evening (2:00PM - 11:30PM) or night (11:00PM -
7:30AM) with rotating weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).
Ability to demonstrate competencies as defined on the C.N.A.
competency assessment.
