This is a maximum security state men's prison with a maximum capacity of 1,139 inmates.Correctional RN Job Details:Pay Rate: $2,096 to $2,296 per weekSchedule: 7 - 7Available Shift: Days, 3 shifts per weekStart Date: Two weeks of offerLocated In: Waverly, VirginiaRequirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a corrections or similar setting, have a valid RN license and be willing to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.As a Registered Nurse in a correctional care setting, youll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Responsibilities include:Assessing patient health status, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions as neededAdministering medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocolsMonitoring patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessaryCollaborating with healthcare team members, correctional staff, and community resources to ensure continuity of careDocumenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timelyCorrectional care positions can often offer healthcare professionals more independence in how they practice and the ability to grow professionally.
