CommunityWeekend CoveragePediatrician Job Overview:Perform a full
range of Pediatric Physician services for pediatric patients under
eighteen (18) years old.Provide a full range of pediatric medicine
services (e.g., clinically oversee and provide general screening
and medical care and examinations of adolescents for routine, acute
and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide
immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel, developmental and
learning disabilities (cerebral palsy, developmental disability,
birth defects, ADHD, emotional problems and adjustments, and child
abuse and neglect; etc.)).Clinically oversee and teach other
medical staff. Provide educational lectures and participate in the
provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such
direction and interaction will adhere to government and
professional clinical standards and accepted clinical
protocol.Provide age appropriate patient/parent education on
diseases, conditions, procedures, medications, prevention, and
wellness.In out-patient setting, perform well child examinations,
sports physicals, and general pediatrics acute visits.Order and
interpret diagnostic and testing procedures to include laboratory
and radiological examinations.Participate in the implementation of
the Family Advocacy Program as directed. Participation shall
include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical examination,
documentation, and reporting.Attend and/or comply with all annual
training classes required by the Command, to include but not
limited to online annual training provided by the MTF: disaster
training, infection control, Sexual Harassment, Blood borne
Pathogens, Fire and Safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological,
Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE), and all other required
training.Actively participate in the command's Performance
Improvement Program. Participate in meetings to review and evaluate
the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve
the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems
exist.Attend and participate in various meetings as
directed.Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of
patient care.Participate in the provision of in-service training to
clinic staff members. Provide training and/or clinical direction as
applicable to supporting government employees (e.g., hospital
corpsmen, students, etc.).Operate and manipulate automated systems
such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, MHS Genesis and Clinical
Information System (CIS), participate in clinical staff Performance
Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed
by the Commander. Maintain DOD email account as directed. The HCW
shall be responsive to all email and voicemail
communications.Pediatrician Job Qualifications:One (1) year
full-time experience as a Pediatrician in the last two (2) yearsBC:
Pediatrics by the American Board of PediatricsPALSBLS Providers by
AHA or ARCComputer competencyMD or DOGraduate from an accredited
medical school in the United States or Canada.This degree must have
been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American
Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges;
Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic
College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or
an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education
(ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained (e.g. Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), College of Family
Physicians of Canada (CFPC). A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent
degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and
medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in
the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in
the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the
Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth
pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical
education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign
country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing
Examination.Internship/Residency: Approved by the ACGME or the
Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the AOASubsequent to
obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a
candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience
providing direct service in a clinical setting (i.e., a 1-year
internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital
or an institution accredited for such training). For purposes of
this requirement, graduate training programs include only those
internship, residency, and fellowship programs that are approved by
accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or Canada.
Descriptions of such programs are described below.An internship
program involves broadly based clinical practice in which
physicians acquire experience in treating a variety of medical
problems under supervision (e.g., internal medicine, surgery,
general practice, obstetrics-gynecology, and pediatrics). Such
programs are in hospitals or other institutions accredited for
internship training an appropriate accrediting body.A residency
program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a
hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty
by an appropriate accrediting body.A fellowship program involves
advanced training (beyond residency training) in a given medical
specialty in either a clinical or research setting in a hospital or
an institution accredited in the United States for such training.MD
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted. Any U.S. state
or territory.Clinical competency2 Letters of Reference with
specified LOR requirements written within the last two years
attesting to skills including from supervising practicing
