2025. Terms and Conditions apply. **Acute Care Medicine Unit is an
expanding Acute and Progressive Care unit specializing in providing
quality care to Internal Medicine patients of a variety of medical
diagnosis including renal, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, hepatology,
infectious disease, endocrine, gerontology and a specialized focus
on adult patients living with cystic fibrosis. Since 2015 Acute
Care Medicine has been recognized by AACN as a Beacon Gold Unit for
Excellence highlighting our continuous commitment to using evidence
based information to improve patient outcomes, patient and staff
satisfaction, and credibility with consumers. We achieve this
through an inter-professional collaborative approach which fosters
both novice and expert clinicians with a focus on self-care and
professional development of the clinical nurse.The Clinical
Coordinator facilitates patient flow, coordinates activities and
communication for the clinical area nursing unit during his/her
assigned shift. This person serves as a resource and leader for
patients, staff, health care providers, administration and other
disciplines.The Clinical Coordinator ensures that patient care is
delivered to all patients in an efficient, caring and courteous
manner.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for
Hire:Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact
stateLicensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for
continued employment:Current RN licensure in Virginia AHA BLS HCP
Certification or equivalentExperience REQUIRED:Minimum of three (3)
years of clinical experienceCharge Nurse experience or supervisory
experienceExperience PREFERRED:Academic Health Care
experienceExperience with similar patient population in either an
acute care setting or as applicable to area of
practiceEducation/training REQUIRED:Diploma or Associates Degree
from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by
the corresponding states Board of Nursing.All registered nurses
without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required
to enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of
their start date and to complete the program within five years of
their start date.Education/training PREFERRED:Certification in
specialty area. Completion of a Bachelors Degree (or higher) in
