Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night and Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU settings - Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Experience with multi-system organ failure - Experience with IV insulin protocols - Experience in GI surgery care - Experience in chronic/acute renal failure and IV therapy - Experience in CVA/acute stroke management - Experience with external ventricular drains - Experience with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun - Experience in ICP monitoring - Experience in post-neurosurgery management - Experience with spinal cord injury management - Experience with traumatic brain injury care - Experience in respiratory/thoracic care - Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions - Proficient in phlebotomy - Experience with surgical wounds, drains, and wound vacs - Charge experience preferred License: - DC RN Licensure required Certifications: - BLS - ACLS Must-Have: - Flu vaccine required Description: Transplant ICU registered nurses are needed for day and night shifts. The position requires no on-call and every other weekend work. Nurses may be required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Candidates must have the necessary DC RN licensure in hand upon submission. All employees are required to have the flu vaccine without exemptions. Nurses will engage in critical patient care, requiring robust clinical skills. Experience with complex patient management and various medical protocols is crucial. The role demands excellent teamwork and communication skills. Nurses will be part of a high-acuity environment focused on patient outcomes.
