Job Details - Location: Mechanicsville, Virginia 23116 - Assignment
Type: Travel nursing job - Unit: CVICU (8-bed Cardiovascular ICU) -
Shift: 12-hour night shifts - Hours per Week: 36 - Contract
Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 1/31/2026) -
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required -
Interview Process: ITO interviews Registered Nurse Qualifications -
Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required) - BLS,
ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required) - Minimum 1 year of
recent CVICU nursing experience (including post-op CABG recovery) -
Proficiency with Swan/PA catheters (required) - Experience with
ECMO, IABP, and Impella preferred - Must pass EKG exam at
orientation (study guide provided) - No local candidates (must
reside outside a 50-mile radius of Mechanicsville) CVICU RN
Responsibilities - Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments
in the CVICU - Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized
cardiac care plans - Administer medications safely and according to
hospital policies - Coordinate patient care across hospital
departments - Deliver nursing care using advanced life-support
technology (ventilators, CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO) - Conduct
hemodynamic monitoring and manage patients with multi-system organ
failure - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and
educate patients/families - Advocate for patient safety and
participate in quality improvement initiatives - Respond
effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions - Maintain
professionalism and uphold patient privacy and safety standards
