Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring night shifts and fetal monitoring experience. Responsibilities - Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 10 LDR beds, 2 triage beds, and 2 OR suites - High acuity patient population including cases with language barriers, substance abuse, and chronic conditions affecting pregnancy - Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 depending on acuity and staffing - Uses equipment such as warmers, GE monitors, pulse oximeters, and blood glucose analyzers - Fetal monitoring required; no fetal monitoring certification required - 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a), every other weekend and every other major holiday required - No on-call responsibilities - May occasionally float to the Mother/Baby unit - EMR system used is Epic (experience preferred) - Responsibilities include care coordination, patient assessment, planning, education, nursing interventions, and evaluation throughout labor and delivery - Will work as part of a team with 3 RNs and 1 tech for most shifts - Frequent collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient outcomes - Must provide care for high acuity cases and diverse patient needs - Pass/fail EKG testing required on first day, with two attempts allowed and study guides provided - Every other major holiday coverage required - First-time travelers will be considered Requirements - Active VA or compact RN license required - Minimum one year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required - Experience circulating for deliveries required (scrubbing not required) - Current BLS and NRP certifications required - Fetal monitoring experience required - Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates) Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628824.
