with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Ortho RN in
Richmond, Virginia, 23235! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:

with Meditech Description: General Comments: This position is for a
Med Surg unit that primarily cares for post-operative orthopedic
patients. The unit has 25 beds with patient ratios of 5 to 6 or
more patients per nurse. The staffing includes 4 to 5 nurses and 1
to 3 patient care technicians during shifts. There is a department
secretary present from 07:00 to 19:00, currently working 3 days a
week, with plans to hire a second secretary for 6 days a week.
Expect the use of general nursing equipment for the care of
medical-surgical patients, particularly related to post-operative
procedures for hips, knees, and spines. The documentation system
utilized on the unit is Meditech. Scheduling requirements include
working 3 shifts per week, with every other weekend required.
Please note that there is no guarantee of block scheduling. Staff
will float to like units, specifically other medical-surgical
areas, if necessary. Patient experience requirements include
bedside shift reporting, safety rounding performed hourly during
the day and every two hours at night, and using AIDET for all
patient interactions. It is crucial to treat all patients with
courtesy and respect, keeping them informed of their care while
making personal connections. Certifications required for this
position include BLS. The dress code consists of navy scrubs and
any closed-toed shoes. Unit policies and guidelines follow standard
hospital policies. The unit is recognized for its TJC Certified Hip
and Knee Program and has received numerous nominations for
excellence in patient care. Patient experience measurements
indicate high satisfaction from surgical patients regarding the
care provided. The unit is purpose-built and just over a year old,
equipped to meet the needs of patients and staff. Many nursing
staff members have significant tenure, with some having worked for
