Registered Nurse (RN) | Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Location: Washington, DC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,208 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required License: Must have applicable state license in hand prior to start date Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Proof of pending status at the time of submission - Ability to pass EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms - Travel experience preferred - Availability for every other weekend and holidays as needed - Float to ICU and Intermediate Care required Description: The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to patients recovering from cardiac surgery and major vascular surgeries. The nurse will manage complex patient needs, including those on temporary mechanical circulatory support. Responsibilities include arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, and care of ventilated patients. The nurse will ensure infection prevention and follow protocols for the administration of emergency medications and sedation. Interpretation of dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases will be essential in providing appropriate care. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams will be necessary to deliver comprehensive patient care. The unit will support a patient ratio of 2 patients per nurse on day and night shifts. Willingness to float to ICU or Intermediate Care is required. Must demonstrate strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
