Responsibilities As a healthcare professional in an Adult Mental Health facility, you’ll play a critical role in serving a unique and often underserved patient population. Your care will directly impact patient safety, wellness, and rehabilitation. A few of the responsibilities include: Effective communication both verbal & written. Ability to participate in an interdisciplinary team. Ability to lead educational groups. Ability to assess, plan, implement, & evaluate patient care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, AND physical, psychological, & social needs of the psychiatric adolescent or child. Competent with TOVA, CPR and knowledge of lab values for children & adolescents. Basic computer skills. Ability to apply knowledge to meet child & adolescent needs in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Act as a resource person to communicate knowledge of the nursing process to other disciplines, community groups, & schools of nursing. Walking and/or standing for up to eight (8) hours or more. Bending & lifting. Ability to use TOVA techniques. May be exposed to aggressive patients.
