Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Newport News, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,122 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical care experience License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Flexible scheduling - Experience with supervisory roles - Experience with patient ratio management in critical care Description: The position involves working in a critical care float pool across various intensive care units. Candidates will care for patients with traumatic injuries, surgical complications, exacerbated medical comorbidities, and those requiring additional cardiac monitoring. Unit types include surgical and medical intensive care units, as well as a cardiac care unit and an oncology ICU. Nurses will float between units and may be engaged in activities such as care for ventilated patients, central line management, and administering blood products. Responsibilities also include managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and participating in rapid response initiatives. In addition, nurses will need to demonstrate experience in a high-acuity setting with skill sets such as IV management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and post-operative care. All applicants must possess the ability to work every other weekend and be available for holiday shifts as scheduled. Experience with Epic charting is required.
