Registered Nurse (RN) | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: Norfolk, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,686 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 3 years License: RN (Compact Accepted) Certifications: BLS; NRP Must-Have: 3 years minimum of Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience. FLU required, no exemptions. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse with expertise in the NICU. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 NICU setting. The unit is a Level IV, 70-bed capacity facility. Required certifications include BLS and NRP. Nurses will work on a night shift schedule of 12 hours. Expect to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. The average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:3. Candidates must be familiar with a variety of diagnoses and procedures common in the NICU. Top diagnoses and procedures include prematurity, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, neurological disorders, cardiac lesions, and respiratory issues. Special procedures on the unit may include occasional bedside surgeries such as PDA ligation and chest tube placement. The patient delivery system is based on primary nursing. Computerized charting is utilized on the unit. Floating to a similar patient population area may be required.
