About the Opportunity Veterinary Assistants are responsible for ensuring that clients and patients receive excellent care at every visit. As a Veterinary Assistant you will: Assist veterinarians in appointments and surgery. Perform technical duties such as venipuncture, proper restraint, radiographic positioning, fill medications, and anesthetic monitoring. Provide client education in pet care, so you must be well versed in regards to various medical procedures and preventive care for pets. Create and communicate medical treatment plans Who Were Looking For a Team Member Caring, compassionate individuals with: A high school diploma or equivalent is required Be able to handle a high paced environment and be a successful multitasker Possess a high level of interest in customer service and the ability to communicate with clients and fellow team members not just pets The ability to meet the physical demands of working a shift standing, squatting, walking, lifting and carrying 40 lbs unassisted The ability to work around substances such as animal saliva, blood, urine, fecal material, vomit, etc. Comfortable and able to work with all breeds, temperaments, and sizes of dogs and cats At least one year experience working in a veterinary hospital environment
