Job Description:

MedStar Health, a distinguished leader in the healthcare industry, is seeking a skilled PRN X-Ray Technologist to join our dedicated team in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region. This position offers the opportunity to work across various MedStar facilities, providing critical diagnostic imaging support that is instrumental in our patient-first care approach. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures under minimal supervision, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of injuries and disease. Adjust and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety standards are met. Prepare patients for procedures, explaining methods, and addressing concerns to reduce anxieties. Follow prescribed safety standards to protect themselves and patients from unnecessary radiation. Collaborate with radiologists and other health care team members to evaluate images and determine necessity of further tests. Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to confidentiality guidelines. Participate in training and continuing education to stay abreast of technological advancements in the field. Proficiency with various types of X-ray and diagnostic imaging equipment. Strong understanding of radiology protocols and safety guidelines. Excellent patient management skills to alleviate fears and explain processes. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for assessing images and identifying abnormalities. Ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals. Capability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
