Registered Nurse (RN) | Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma Location: Petersburg, WV Agency: Mindlance Health Pay: $2,164 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Mindlance Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Petersburg, West Virginia, 26847! ID: 75944237 Shift: 12H Day, Evening 3–12-hour shifts per week, 10:45am-11:15pm; weekends and holidays as scheduled Description: Unit : Emergency Room | RN- Beds/Trauma Bays: 13 beds, 1 trauma bay.- Do you have a separate Triage area: Do have a triage room in the waiting room that can be used if needed. Most often triage after brought back to the ER. Travelers will triage if needed.- Do you have a separate holding area in the ER or are ER holds intermixed w/in the ER: Holds are intermixed within the ER. ER RNs manage holds.- Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms: 1 room that is build to be psych safe.- Is Security in-house 24/7: In house 24/7, housed in the ER waiting room. Can see waiting room and control who enters rest of hospital.- On average, how many patients do you treat in the ER/day: 35 patients per day.- Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:4 vary with acuity. They do team nursing- no one has a patient assignment they all help each other. Only 2 RNs and 1 tech on night shift.- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Everything- only standing hospital within 2 hour drive. Stabilize and ship out critical patients. Peds are around 1/4 of pts seen.- Experience: MUST have at least 3 years of ER experience- resource limited no specialist. MUST have travel experience, solid background with it- extensions.- Common drips: Cardiac drips, Dopamine, levophed, nitroglycerine, propofol, insulin.- ED Physician/Mid-Levels: Physician staffed 24/7, Midlevel from 9a-9p.- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: No charge nurse. House Coordinator in house Mon-Fri on day shift. Overnights the most experience RN is the resource nurse and will have a full patient assignment.- Nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters: Yes- have a tech on nights. Duties include responding to call lights, vitals, ADLs, blood sticks, EKGs. Tech will be utilized as a sitter if needed or may pull an extra tech from MedSurg for sitter.- Is RT in the ER 24/7: RT 24/7 manage vents, ABGs. RNs do own ekgs.- RT Equipment: RT manages equipment, RNs should be able to trouble shoot.- Do you have Monitor Techs in the ER: No monitor techs. RNs required to read and interpret own strips.- X-Ray or CT in the ER? Transport?: X-Ray and CT are close by. Will help transport. RNs to help transport critical patients.- Does Phlebotomy draw labs or RN's draw: RNs responsible for primary labs. Phlebotomy available for back up.- Shifts & Scheduling: Self scheduling- weekend will already be assigned. Shifts: 7a-7p 3 RNs, 9-9 Float Nurse, between 11-12p to MN triage nurse. 7p-7a 2 RNs and 1 tech. Will allow every weekend block scheduling if preferred.- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.- Holiday Requirements: Rotation with core staff- will fill in where needed.- Is there call or a standby Floating float to any area to be an extra helping hands.- Scrub Color/Dress Code: No color requirements as long as clean and professional.- Unit/Department specific orientation: 2-3 days.
