Nags Head, North Carolina Emergency Medicine APP (NP/PA) Locum Tenens Location: Nags Head, NC Contract Type: Locum Tenens – Emergency Medicine Facility Type: 21-Bed Critical Access Hospital Shift Types: Day & Evening Schedule: Flexible Block Scheduling Start Date: ASAP – Ongoing Travel & Lodging: Provided EMR: EPIC Assignment Overview Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide emergency care coverage at a well-supported critical access facility in Nags Head, North Carolina . Providers will support evening and overnight shifts with inpatient ED coverage only. Clinical Environment: Average ED Volume: ~100 patients/day (1.8 pts/hr) Average Inpatient Census: 20 ICU/Critical Care Duties: Yes Procedures: Full scope of ED procedures Code Response: Yes Admissions: Managed by Hospitalist team Coverage Needed April & May 2026 7AM-7PM | 10AM-10PM | 2PM-12AM | 6PM-6AM Candidate Requirements Licensure: Active NC license & unrestricted DEA Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS Experience: 2 years in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care settings Clinical Scope: Must be comfortable with critical care and fast-paced ED procedures Shifts: Minimum of 2–3 shifts/month preferred Why Rhino?
