Job Description:
As a leading healthcare provider in the DMV area, MedStar Health
invites applications for the role of Emergency Vehicle Operator/EMT
Transport. This critical position combines the responsibilities of
expert emergency medical care with the skilled operation of an
emergency vehicle. Our team members are crucial to our mission,
providing life-saving interventions during transport and ensuring
safe, prompt travel to healthcare facilities. This role demands a
unique blend of medical expertise, vehicular proficiency, and a
deep commitment to patient care. Operate emergency vehicles safely
and efficiently, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
Assess patient condition and administer appropriate medical care
during transport. Maintain all emergency vehicles and equipment,
ensuring they are ready for immediate use. Document all patient
care and transport activities accurately and confidentially.
Participate in ongoing training and recertification programs.
Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and emergency
response teams. Strong driving skills with the ability to navigate
under pressure. Excellent knowledge of emergency medical procedures
and protocols. Capability to operate and maintain emergency
vehicles and equipment. Strong interpersonal and communication
skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations.
Valid state Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
Certification in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS). Valid driver's
license with a clean driving record. Emergency Vehicle Operator
Course (EVOC) certification preferred.
