The Introduction:
The customer service representative is responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs as well as communicating effectively with team members within Supply Source.
Here are some of the main job duties in this role:

  • Heavy phone and email use to answer customer inquiries and to accept and process orders and other requests via computer, from our customers with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and courtesy.
  • The ability to establish and maintain good relations with customers by providing courteous, efficient, and professional service is a must.
  • Provides timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns.
  • Processes overflow customer orders/changes/returns according to established department policies and procedures.
  • Assists in providing receptionist and sample department coverage
  • Cross trains with other departments to provide support when necessary
  • Partners with the sales team to meet and exceed customer's expectations.
  • Works closely with the credit department to resolve disputed credit items.
  • Inquire, research, and provide customer feedback on the status of customer orders, invoices, return authorizations, and other questions.
  • Create return authorizations for items returned or shorted
  • Create and expedite "rush" orders (will calls) in a timely manner
  • Assist with price maintenance on supported accounts
  • Manage customer backorders in an efficient manner
  • Assist customers in completing required documentation regarding products and company specifications Here are some of the expectations we would require of you:
    • High school diploma or G.E. D. equivalent, College Degree preferred
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a call center environment or a similar environment
    • Proficient in relevant computer applications; working knowledge in using Excel
    • Excellent data entry and typing skills
    • Knowledge of customer service practices and principles
    • Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills
