Job Description:

This job is an in-person position based out of our corporate office in Downtown Richmond Virginia.

Role and Responsibilities:


  • Payroll---process biweekly payroll, including assisting employees with payroll questions and resolutions. Conduct and review scheduled audits and reports related to payroll and benefits.
  • Benefits--- participates in benefit administration, including employee education, benefit changes, and approving carrier invoices. Monitors benefit enrollment for employees. Administers FMLA leave process and maintains records. Manages COBRA qualifying event notifications and changes. Prepares and processes benefit paperwork for offboarding employees. Oversees new hire onboarding process to completion.
  • Compliance--- verifies completion of required legal filings on an annual/quarterly basis. Maintains employee personnel records and HR department supplies. Completes employment verification requests.
  • Other Responsibilities--- assists Human Resources Manager with administrative activities and projects as requested. Assists employees with general questions related to benefits, onboarding, payroll, leave, HR policies, etc.

    Ideal Experience

    • Benefits Administration: 2 years (Preferred)
    • Payroll Processing: 2 year (Preferred)
    • Previous HRIS, accounting, and/or administration experience preferred
    • Highly proficient in communication, both oral and written
    • Skilled in identifying and resolving problems
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personnel data and office policies/procedures
    • Ability to work efficiently and accurately, detail-oriented
    • Highly proficient in preparing and maintaining records/reports, including use of Excel/Google Sheets
    • Skilled in time-management, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
    • Exercises high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making
    • Comfortable responding effectively to highly sensitive inquiries--
    • Resolving Payroll errors
    • Manage payroll staff--
    • Prepare reports for quarterly, weekly and annually
    • Processing medical support orders, support orders and employee garnishments--
