Role Summary
The successful candidate will provide doctrine writing support for
the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) Sustainment Center of
Excellence (COE). The candidate will perform Doctrine services to
include the development of army techniques publication, field
manuals, and joint publications. The candidate will be responsible
for reviewing, editing, conducting internal staffing, collating,
providing comments, and conducting research on other doctrinal
publications.
Salary/Wage: $86,000 to $105,000 annually DOE (depending on
experience)
Work Site Location: In Office at Fort Lee, VA (relocation
assistance offered)
Project Duration: The position is contract-based, 12-month minimum
with 3 years maximum.

Responsibilities

1. Doctrine writing support services and technical editing.
2. Development of army techniques publication, field manuals, joint
publications
3. Conduct research and analysis to ensure doctrine publications
are comprehensive, relevant, current, and fully synchronized across
all centers of excellence and proponents.
4. Write text and create graphics for cyclical publication
revisions, new publications, change packages, and associated
multimedia.
5. Develop, revise, and submit Program Directives in accordance
with TR 25-36.
6. Develop graphic products to illustrative narratives in Army
publications.Education/Experience/Required Clearance
Must be US Citizen and eligible for clearance.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat
Pro.
Minimum two years' experience writing and editing military
doctrine.
Five years of recent experience, within the last ten years, serving
in operational military sustainment assignments (military or
civilian).
Two years' experience preparing graphics for or developing
briefings and visual aids for various audiences (experience with
Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Paint).
Ability to read and comprehend complex concepts and principles in
Army doctrine.
Associates degree required, but bachelor's degree is preferred.
Served on staff assignments at the Brigade or higher echelon level
(preferred).
Familiar with the standards for graphics in departmental
publication outlined in TR 25-36 and DA Pamphlet 25-0
(preferred).
Familiar with Army Doctrine Publications (ADP's), Army Doctrine
Reference Publications (ADRP's), Field Manuals (FM's) and, Army
Techniques Publication (ATP's) [preferred].
Supervisory ResponsibilityNo supervisory duties or
responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office
environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment
such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax
machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to

Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position,
the candidate shall conduct business during CASCOM's normal
business hours between the hours of 0700 and 1700, Eastern Standard
Time (EST), Monday through Friday, exclusive of Federal
Holidays.
TravelNo travel expected.
Work Authorization/Security ClearanceMust be authorized to legally
work within the United States of America. A favorable background
check is required to meet installation access requirements.
