What You’ll Do As an Android Developer, you won’t just write code—you’ll take ownership of a production application and help evolve it to the next level of quality, stability, and scale. Your mission? To enhance and improve our mobile app that allows users to access financing options at their fingertips—whether they’re shopping online, in-store, or somewhere in between. This isn’t your typical Android app; it’s the heart of a financial revolution. You’ll be working with an agile, cross-functional team of innovators and problem-solvers, delivering next-gen features that customers will love and competitors will envy. Design & Development: Develop new features and improve existing functionality for our Android POS financing app Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code adhering to industry best practices Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application Integration: Integrate the app with third-party APIs, payment gateways, and financial services Work with backend teams to ensure seamless communication between the app and the server Security & Compliance: Implement security protocols, including encryption and secure storage, to protect sensitive financial data Ensure the app adheres to regulatory compliance standards such as PCI DSS Testing & Debugging: Perform thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation across various Android devices Use automated testing frameworks to ensure reliability and avoid regressions Performance Optimization: Monitor app performance and make necessary improvements to ensure optimal load times, responsiveness, and battery usage User Experience: Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure the application provides a seamless and intuitive user experience Continuously identify areas for improvement in user interaction and design Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on Android development trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to keep our app cutting-edge Contribute to code reviews and mentor junior team members About You 5 years of professional experience in Android development Proven track record of shipping Android applications, preferably in the fintech or payments space Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, and building native apps Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, and third-party libraries and services Experience with modern Android architecture, including MVVM, dependency injection, and Jetpack components (including Jetpack Compose) Knowledge of secure coding practices, particularly in financial applications (e.g., encryption, authentication) Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment tools Experience with mobile analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring tools Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience Why choose Koalafi: A career at Koalafi means opportunities to tackle exciting challenges every single day.
