If you answered yes to all of these questions, then product management at Capital One may be a fit for you About the Role As a Senior Associate, Product Manager , you will be at the forefront of defining what high availability looks like for a cloud-native bank. We focus on the "well-managed" aspect of our infrastructure, ensuring that as we scale, our stability scales with us. You will own the roadmap for Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), specifically focusing on Availability and Resilience . This role requires a blend of technical curiosity and product rigor; you will partner with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) and Architects to ensure our platforms can withstand systemic shocks while maintaining peak performance for our customers. What You'll Do Own the Resilience Roadmap: You will lead the near-term roadmap for resilience capabilities. You will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NFR standards across your platform area. Define Availability Standards: Support the definition and implementation of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets. You will work with engineering partners to ensure these aren't just metrics on a dashboard, but actionable drivers of the product development lifecycle. Drive Engineering Partnership: Serve as the bridge between business intent and technical implementation. You will translate complex resilience needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring that "resilience by design" is baked into every feature we ship. Stakeholder & Risk Management: Partner across organizational boundaries with Risk, Cyber, and Line of Business (LOB) stakeholders to align on uptime requirements and mitigation strategies. You will use data-driven storytelling to communicate platform health and the business impact of resilience investments. Problem Solving & Insights: Leverage data to identify potential single points of failure and advocate for architectural improvements. You will stay ahead of the curve on industry trends in cloud reliability to ensure Capital One remains a leader in platform stability. You have the ability to put the team before yourself and establish long-lasting relationships Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or military experience At least 1 year of product management experience or at least 1 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering 1 years translating business strategy or analysis into consumer facing digital products 1 years of experience working on core product platforms powering digital experiences 1 years working with cross functional teams as a product owner in an agile development process At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Associate, Product Management Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
