Overview

Contingent Upon Contract Award:

Candidate will provide support to the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command C5ISR Center (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), NVESD (Night Vision Electronic Sensors Directorate) at Fort A.P. Hill in Bowling Green, Virginia.

The Sr. Electronics Technician serves as working leader and is considered an expert for operation and maintenance of electronic or electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) systems under test or the instrumentation used in testing. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturer's manuals. Work requires experience with building and troubleshooting circuits and networks to ensure correct operation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing data collection and other support requirements for testing of night vision sensors, electronic test equipment, and video recording equipment from either ground or airborne platforms;
  • Construct EO/IR and other sensor test fixtures and target boards in accordance with the specifications provided;
  • Provide electrical and electronics support in wiring facilities, trailers, and shelters;
  • Provide electrical/electronic maintenance support and the installation/operation of specialized communications, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), data collection, video transmission, and Radio Frequency equipment and data links.

Qualifications

Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, having an active clearance is a plus. Must have an Associate's degree in electronics engineering or related field and 6 years of applicable experience, other formal training and added experience will be considered. Must have experience assembling and troubleshooting electrical components and systems such as EO/IR systems, thermal target boards, and data collection systems. Experience with EO/IR and/or laser technologies/sensors is a plus.
