Position Summary:

The Women's Safe Off the Streets (SOTS) Coordinator provides supervision of the SOTS center and its residents, ensuring client and staff safety.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Enforce policies and procedures of the facility and grounds are kept clean and orderly.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff in SOTS and facility procedures and policies.
  • Perform on-going and annual evaluations on SOTS staff.
  • Coordinate with Administrative Assistant on the ordering/stocking of supplies for the SOTS intake center.
  • Ensure accountability of clients and staff to guidelines.
  • Conduct and participate in weekly meetings.
  • Assess/screen incoming clients to determine appropriateness for stabilization and refer if not eligible.
  • Perform client intake/discharges and properly document.
  • Observe and document any client behavior not adhering to facility guidelines.
  • Respond to and document any medical situation that occurs within the facility.
  • Monitor and record clients' blood pressure.
  • Make medications available to clients in a responsible fashion and properly document.
  • Facilitate and document contraband searches of clients and their rooms.
  • Facilitate and document drug screening and pregnancy tests of clients.
  • Comfortable with the ability to de-escalate and resolve conflict appropriately.
  • Understand and implement CARITAS values with volunteers, vendors and staff.

Qualifications:

Must have management experience particularly with hiring and scheduling staff. Certified nursing assistant, Patient Care Assistant or Nurses Aid preferred. Must possess valid Virginia state driver's license and have knowledge of all federal, state and local compliance and safety regulations. The ability to work with contractors and outside suppliers and work well with our client population, including:

  • Skilled in conflict resolution and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to handle emergencies.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Valid T.B. test within 2 weeks of being hired.
  • Current CPR certification required within 1 month of being hired.
