Schedule:  Full Time, Days, 7a-3:30p M-F with call

What you will do in this role:

 
  • Performs/document patient care according to Radiology/Nursing policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of sedation medication, reversal agents and monitoring equipment in accordance with sedation guidelines. 
  • Completes nursing assessment on all patients prior to receiving IV Conscious sedation or sedation medication.
  • Demonstrates critical care skills by continual evaluation of patient’s tolerance to angiographic and Interventional procedures and by taking appropriate interventions during the procedure to include medication administration and emergency intervention.
  • Assist with invasive procedures that may require sedation.
  • Organizes/prioritizes nursing care for assignments in Radiology.
  • Initiates and documents pre-procedure teaching and discharge planning
  • Analyzes pertinent data, communicates finding, documents information accurately.
  • Participates actively in continuing education and assists in education of new staff as requested.
  • You serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and departmental outcomes.
  • Participates in other duties as assigned.
 
 

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Nursing graduate with RN diploma or Associates of Science in nursing required, BSN preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as RN with 1 year of Med/Surg and 1 year of Critical Care experience required. 2 years of critical care experience or previous experience in Radiology Nursing preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current Virginia RN license, BLS required. ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire or start in position.
