With 466 beds, we specialize in heart care at the Levinson Heart Hospital and emotional and mental health services through the Tucker Pavilion. Our ER is also a Level I Trauma Center and we offer Central Virginia’s only Pediatric ER staffed 24/7 by pediatric-trained ER nurse and physician specialists.

Chippenham's Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit:

  • 12 Bed Intensive Care Unit
  • Specializing in care for immediate post-op coronary artery by-pass patients, valve repair/ replacements, MAZE procedure patients

  • Have begun TAVR program
  • Setting up LVAD program
  • Receive and place ECMO
  • Receive acute vascular patients such as endograft AAAs (abdominal aortic aneurysm)
  • Handle thoracic endograft aneurysm cases
  • Along with aneurysm cases our nurses recover carotid and peripheral vascular cases
  • Our cardiac group also performs VATS procedures and lobectomy procedures 
What will you do in this role:

Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.

Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.

Collaborates with subject matter experts and other leaders to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.

Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.  Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively superior organization. 

Resolves and/or channels employee grievances, disputes, or concerns according to appropriate procedures. Escalates issues as needed.

Assists with staff scheduling.  Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma
Required

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Preferred

1+ years applicable experience
