The Tissue Typ Tech performs assays to determine compatibility between donors and recipients for organ transplantation. This position will perform various manual and semi-automated testing procedures to aid clinicians in the determination of donor to recipient compatibility for transplant services at VCUHS. This position requires a fair level of repetitive manual dexterity to perform assays. This position requires participation in 24 hour emergency on-call responsibilities for primary and backup rotations which are shared amongst techs in the lab. Candidates for hire are expected to follow SOPs and perform Quality Control Procedures.A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Life Science Program or Healthcare Program is REQUIRED.A minimum of 1 year laboratory experience is preferred.MT or MLS certification or equivalent is HIGHLY PREFERRED.Workday Day (United States of America)EEO Employer/Disabled/Protected Veteran/41 CFR 60-1.4.Job Type: Full-time
