• You are a patient and caring individual
• Have a desire to coach people to be their best selves
• You are outgoing and enjoy encouraging others to step out of their comfort zones when appropriate
• You enjoy helping others with shopping, personal money management, diet planning, food preparation, home management, personal hygiene, physical fitness and social and leisure activities
• You are available to work day and afternoon/evening shifts, but are flexible to work rotating weekends, attend training and work addition shifts as needed.
• You've never once said "that's not my job."
• A strong desire to help others above all else
• Bachelor degree in Human Services or related field and/or one or more years of experience in the fast paced environment of twenty-four hour residential programs for persons with intellectual disabilities.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds to assist individuals who have physical challenges with positioning, transferring or ambulating as needed
• Valid Virginia driver's license and acceptable driving record required
• Must be able to successfully pass required background check Training: Excellent training offered and numerous opportunities for advancement in a caring, well-established nonprofit agency founded in 1979. What we are looking for in your background:
