Job Description:
The Qualified Mental Health Professional - Adult (QMHP-A) is
responsible for supporting the care and treatment of individuals
experiencing a mental health crisis who present with some level of
disruption to their normal functional lives. The QMHP-A will work
closely with the Field Responder and other program staff to ensure
the supervision, safety, treatment and improved stability of
individuals in the Crisis Stabilization program. The QMHP-A will
support the individuals in achieving their treatment goals while
assisting them through the programs SRA System (Stabilize,
Recognize & Actualize). All services will be guided by the
individuals ISP with a need for creative interventions, activities
and efficient coping skills designed to enhance the individual
towards increased management of their mental and emotional
functioning. The QMHP-A will participate in group/individual
sessions, accompany individuals to appointments and supervise
treatment-focused activities in the community environment. This
position will require concentrated efforts with the individual, as
well as some supports being provided to their authorized
representative, family members and designated supporters as a part
of their discharge plan (as applicable). As all services will be
guided by the individuals ISP, the QMHP-A will play an essential
role in the implementation of their treatment plan goals and
objectives during their brief time in services. -The QMHP-A will
work closely with other professional team members to ensure a
concentrated, efficient and timely approach to stabilizing
individuals and preparing for a more manageable return to their
normal life activity. Leadership, professionalism, creativity,
multitasker, ethical character, humility, efficient written and
oral skills, favorable team approach, organizational skills,
accountability and a keen knowledge of common mental health
diagnoses and progressive treatment methods are all attributes
which will be essential for the QMHP-A position. The completion of
professional documentation to include individual/group session
notes and treatment summaries will be critical to this
position.
